International Business and Economic Diplomacy
Every September IMC Krems welcomes new students to the International Business and Export Management degree programme, which is taught exclusively in English. As a student you will develop expertise as part of an applied and holistic education. Learning is based on case studies, the latest academic findings and current trends. As a result, you will possess the qualifications to assume senior positions at companies with an international focus.
You will develop social skills such as flexibility and mobility, and learn to be proactive. Knowledge and understanding of different cultures as well as communication skills will enable you to take positions in international business. You will have the opportunity to visit one of our partner universities in the course of the third semester to further develop your intercultural skills. This enables you to investigate topics that interest you in an international setting while working on the master thesis.

Master students of the full-time format must complete an Applied Research and Training Semester during their third semester.
The research and training semester can be completed at any of the following institutions:
Students work 32 hours per week for 15 weeks at a company or research institute in Austria or abroad. The internship involves participating in an in-house project and documenting project-related activities in line with standard academic practice. Depending on their personal preferences, interns can choose to focus on a research-oriented or more practical topic.
The University’s links to partner institutions also influence the choice of placements available. Students must choose a subject for their project by the end of the second semester. This also forms the basis of the Master thesis and provides an overview of the schedule, work processes and data required to compile the project report and the thesis itself.
The Master thesis is written outside the students’ working time. This structure aims to encourage students to reflect on and develop the knowledge base built up during the Bachelor degree and the first year of the Master programme.
